About me

Hey, I’m Dollar, 

 

I was born and raised on Nusa Lembongan, where my parents were seaweed farmers and from when I was very young they gave me appreciation for the ocan. Growing up, the ocean was simply part of everyday life. After school I would help with the farming, and spend as much time surfing as I could. That’s really where everything started.

 

After finishing school, I began working as a surf guide, travelling and surfing across Bali, Lombok, and Sumbawa. I joined a competition that gave me the opportunity to train as a lifeguard and become a dive master. From there, I went on to work as a dive master in Bali, and later in some of Indonesia’s most incredible locations, including Wakatobi and Flores.

In 2016, I returned home to Nusa Lembongan and reconnected with the local community. I helped organise surf competitions and beach clean-ups with the Lembongan Surf Team, while continuing to work as both a surf and dive instructor. After COVID, I opened my own surf shop, and now I’ve brought everything together through Dollar Doru Experiences.

The island and ocean is a huge part of who I am, and I love sharing it with people. Whether it’s understanding the history of the island, finding secret surf spots () or meeting all the critters living here. Come join me for belly laughs, fun and super personalised experiences!
